JAMMU, Feb 24: The 5th Caddy Tournament was organized by the Jammu Golfers Association (JGA) in collaboration with the Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC), Sidhra. Around fifty golfers participated in the event, which aimed at recognizing and encouraging caddies, who play a vital role in the success of golfers.
Former Minister R.S. Chib, representing the Jammu Golfers Association, addressed the participants and thanked Manav Gupta, Secretary JTGC, for the support and cooperation in making the tournament a success. Chib emphasized that such events provide a platform for financially weaker caddies who show promise in golf, enabling them to pursue it as a career.
Manav Gupta, Secretary JTGC, congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline on the golf course. He also announced cash awards for the winners.
The overall winner of the tournament was Hafiz Ali, while Muzaffar Hussain was the runner-up. The Longest Drive award went to Jatin Sharma, Nearest to Pin to Riaz Ahmed, and Straight Drive to Rinku Sharma. Additionally, fourteen players received the Best in their Four Balls award. The event was praised for its contribution to both the sport and the caddies.
