JAMMU, Feb 28: The 4th J&K UT Level Carrom Championship 2024-25 came to a conclusion today at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar. Organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council under the “My Youth My Pride” initiative, the event witnessed exceptional performances from over 120 participants hailing from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The championship, which featured a variety of categories including Cadet, Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior divisions for both boys and girls, was hosted by the District Srinagar Carrom Association. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Nusrat Gazalla, Divisional Sports Officer (Kashmir) of the J&K Sports Council, who presented the winners with certificates and trophies. Along with Gazalla, other distinguished guests included Adil Rashid Shah (President, J&K Carrom Association), Arif Sultan Khan (Treasurer), Dawar Rashid (Assistant Secretary) and Peer Musadiq (Vice President, District Pulwama Carrom Association).
Adil Rashid Shah announced that the senior category winners and runners-up would represent Jammu and Kashmir at the 52nd AAI Senior National Carrom Championship 2024-25, scheduled to take place from March 17 to 21 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
The winners of the championship, which saw players from both the Srinagar and Baramulla districts dominating the podium, included Hassan Adil Lanker, Mohammad Faheem, Hafsa, M. Nubaid Shalla, Zaid Bin Ajaz, Asra Shafi, and Arslan Mehraj, among others. In total, the event showcased remarkable talent from across the Union Territory, with participants excelling in a variety of age groups and categories.
