48th UTT J&K UT TT C’ship commences

JAMMU, Dec 20: The 48th UTT J&K UT Table Tennis Championships 2025-26 commenced today with a grand opening ceremony, bringing together the best paddlers from across the Union Territory to showcase their talent, skills and sporting spirit.
The event was inaugurated by chief guest Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, who encouraged the young players to perform their best on the court while upholding the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The championship is organized by the Table Tennis Association of J&K in collaboration with Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) and the J&K Sports Council under the initiative “My Youth My Pride.”
Ajay Sharma, President, Table Tennis Association of J&K, said, “These championships are a stepping stone for players preparing for national-level competitions. More than 230 players from across the UT are participating this year. The highlight of the championships is the return of J&K’s star player Ritvik Gupta, an international medallist, who will play alongside young talent, providing them much-needed exposure. Prominent attendees included Arshi Nad (Manager, Indoor Sports Complex), Satbir Singh, IP Singh, Saleem Bandey, Rajan Sharma, Menu Rajesh, Maninder Singh, Narinder Singh, Vasu Dewan, Sheetal Gandotra, Gurvinder Singh Sasan (NIS Table Tennis Coach) and Asad Sharma (NIS Table Tennis Coach).
