KISHTWAR, Feb 7: The 3rd District Wushu Championship, organized by the Wushu Association of Kishtwar at Global Delhi Public School concluded, here today.
Over 250 athletes from various clubs and schools across the district participated in the two-day event, highlighting the growing interest in Wushu in the region.
The championship was inaugurated by Pawan Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, along with Shahan Sajjad Kichloo, Chairman of Global Delhi Public School. Both emphasized the importance of sports in promoting discipline and unity among youth.
Global Delhi Public School was declared the Overall Champion, while Kishtwar Wushu Club secured the Runner-Up position. The closing ceremony saw the Commanding Officer of 7 Assam Rifles awarding medals and trophies to the winners.
The event was supported by the J&K Sports Council and the Wushu Association Kishtwar extended its gratitude to all participants, coaches, and sponsors for their contributions.
