JAMMU, Jan 18: The 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy (Men & Women) Championship 2025-26, organized by Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, is underway at the University campus with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
On the fourth day, several intense semi-final matches were conducted across different disciplines, drawing appreciation from spectators, officials and sports administrators. Competitions are being held in Volleyball, Kabaddi, Football, Wrestling, Table Tennis, Kho-Kho, Badminton, Basketball, Handball and Athletics for both men and women.
In Table Tennis (Men), University of Jammu defeated SMVDU Katra by 3-0 in the first semi-final, while IUST Awantipora edged past Cluster University of Srinagar by 3-2 in the second semi-final. In Badminton (Women), University of Jammu beat University of Kashmir by 2-0 and Cluster University of Jammu defeated SMVDU Katra by 2-1.
In Kabaddi (Men), University of Jammu defeated BGSBU Rajouri by 15 points, while Cluster University of Jammu beat SMVDU Katra by 11 points. Volleyball (Men) semi-finals saw University of Kashmir defeat Cluster University of Jammu by 3-2 in a closely fought match, while University of Jammu beat University of Ladakh by 3-0.
In Football (Men), University of Jammu beat Government Physical Education College Ganderbal by 1-0, while University of Ladakh defeated Cluster University of Srinagar by 1-0. In Kho-Kho (Women), University of Jammu beat BGSBU Rajouri by 12 points and Cluster University of Jammu defeated Central University of Jammu by 7 points.
Basketball (Men) semi-finals were won by Central University of Jammu against Cluster University of Jammu by 22-18 and University of Jammu against MIET by 32-12. In Basketball (Women), University of Jammu beat Cluster University of Jammu by 22-18, while MIET defeated University of Kashmir by 20-12.
In Handball (Men), University of Jammu defeated MIET by 40-12 and Central University of Jammu beat Cluster University of Jammu by 22-18. In Handball (Women), University of Jammu defeated University of Kashmir by 10-2, while University of Ladakh beat Cluster University of Jammu by 4-3.
The championship is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu. Matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Gagan Kumar, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ranbir Singh, Dr Inderjeet Singh, Harinderpal Singh, Rishiv Sharma, Richa Mandla, Sakshi Dabgotra, Jeevan Lal, Arjun Sharma, Mena Ragesh and Anil Singh, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.
