JAMMU, Jan 17: The 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy (Men & Women) Championship 2025–26, hosted by University of Jammu, continued its exciting run on the third day of competition, with numerous intense matches across a variety of sports. The event, running from January 15 to 19, has attracted over 800 athletes, showcasing talent from across Jammu & Kashmir and neighbouring states.
In Table Tennis (Men), Cluster University of Jammu triumphed over University of Ladakh with a dominant 3-0 scoreline. Cluster University of Srinagar secured a 3-1 victory against MIET Jammu, while IUST Awantipora also defeated University of Ladakh by 3-0.
The Badminton (Women) category saw strong performances, with University of Jammu overpowering SMVDU Katra by 2-0. Cluster University of Jammu defeated University of Ladakh by 2-0, while University of Kashmir beat SKUAST Jammu by 2-0. Dogra Group of Colleges also won by 2-0 against University of Ladakh and Cluster University of Jammu completed their successful day with another 2-0 victory over University of Kashmir.
In Kabaddi (Men), University of Jammu dominated SMVDU Katra, winning by 11 points and BGSBU Rajouri edged past SKUAST Jammu by 5 points.
The Volleyball (Men) matches saw University of Kashmir defeating Cluster University Srinagar by 2-1, while University of Jammu defeated Central University Jammu by 2-0. University of Ladakh also emerged victorious, winning by 2-1 against IUST Awantipora.
In Football (Men), University of Jammu produced an impressive 8-0 victory over BGSBU Rajouri. Govt. Physical Education College Ganderbal won by 2-0 against MIET Jammu, while University of Ladakh won by 4-3 against Central University Jammu. Cluster University Srinagar defeated University of Kashmir by 1-0.
The Kho-Kho (Women) matches saw University of Jammu winning both its games against BGSBU Rajouri (by 5 points) and Cluster University of Jammu (by 7 points).
In Basketball (Men), University of Jammu triumphed over Central University Jammu with a score of 42-13. They further defeated SKUAST Jammu by 59-22. SMVDU Katra won by 34-26 against SKUAST Jammu, while Cluster University of Jammu won by 14-0 against University of Kashmir. MIET Jammu secured an 8-0 win over University of Kashmir. In Baseball (Women) University of Kashmir beat SMVDU Katra by 05.
In Handball, University of Jammu dominated both University of Ladakh (28-20) in the men’s category and University of Ladakh (8-7) in the women’s match. Cluster University lost 11-24 to GNDU Amritsar in the men’s category, but the women’s team won 10-0 against University of Kashmir. With the semifinals and finals approaching, the tournament is expected to witness more electrifying action.
