UDHAMPUR, Nov 30: The 36th District Udhampur Boys & Girls Volleyball Championship, organized by the Volleyball Association of District Udhampur under the Volleyball Association of J&K and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, kicked off today at Shaheed Inspector Kamal Singh Government Model Higher Secondary School, Boys Udhampur.
Rayees Mohd Bhat, DIG Udhampur Reasi Range, was the chief guest, while Nagpur Amod Ashok, Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur, was the guest of honour. In his address, Rayees Mohd. Bhat lauded the efforts of the district association and assured support for future sports initiatives. Sunil Sharma, the Organizing Secretary, emphasized the importance of promoting sports to channelize the youth’s energy.
The competition saw Women College defeating Barta Volleyball Club by 2-0 and Ramnagar Volleyball Club overcoming Thial Volleyball Club by 2-0 in the girls’ category. UVC triumphed over Chirayi Volleyball Club by 2-0 in the boys’ category.
