JAMMU, Nov 7: The 32nd Jammu District Table Tennis Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Table Tennis Association got underway at MA Stadium, here today.
The championship was declared open by V.K Magoo, Working president J&K Table tennis Association.
He encouraged the young players of the Jammu district to play in the right spirit of the game.
Around 180 participants will be taking part in different age groups to be held in the next 4 days.
Results: Under 12 Boys (Cadet boys, first round); Samik beat Pratham by 2-1, Shivain outplayed Akhil by 2-1, Manik drubbed Pranav by 2-0, Priyash trounced Pranay by 2-1, Abhinav beat Ragdeep by 2-1, Adrit got better of Sarthak by 2-1, Vishal outplayed Adritya by 2-0.
Second round matches were in progress till the last reports came in.
Prominent among others present on the inaugural function were Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, I P Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Anil Dutta, Gurvinder Sasan, Vasu Dewan, Sandeep Khadotra, Shorya Sharma, Sheetal Gandotra and Sanjeev Gupta.
Matches were officiated by Sandeep Khadotra and Meenu Rajesh.
