JAMMU, May 24: Three wickets haul by Amit Mangotra and Yubby guide Little Flower High School (LFHS), Akhnoor to register 3 wickets win over Youth Cricket Club (YCC) Akhnoor and to lift the title of the Under-19 Cricket Tournament, organized by Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, YCC scored 100 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 16 overs. Rohan chipped in 26 runs off 23 balls, while Atul Sharma made 22 runs in 19 balls.
For LFHS side, Amit Mangotra and Yubby scalped 3 wickets each, while Rohit Kumar took 1 wicket.
In the second inning, LFHS chased the target easily in 12 overs by losing 7 wickets. Arush Chandan was the top scorer with 35 runs off 27 balls, while Yubby made 24 runs in 18 balls.
For YCC side, Ankit took 3 wickets and Arun scalped 2 wickets, while Atul and Kaushal shared one wicket apiece.
Yubby of LFHS was declared as Man of the Match for his all round performance, while Sony clinched Man of the Series trophy.
On the valedictory function, Sham Singh Langeh, President, SCC Akhnoor was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among winning team, runner-up team vis-à-vis other players.
While speaking, Langeh impressed upon the players to take part in sports activities to stay away from dugs and assured to arrange a coaching camp in the summer vacation.
The final match was officiated by Sunny Mahi and Pankaj Verma, while Ashu maintained the scorecard.
