TANGMARG, May 4: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today said that the sportspersons of the state are evincing keen interest in Martial Arts and other sports activities besides undergoing various academic and professional courses.
The Minister was addressing valedictory function of 3-day Gulmarg Boxing Cup 2013 held at Tangmarg.
The Cup was organised by Amateur Boxing Association of Budgam and Baramulla, in which 365 players of various schools and clubs participated.
He said that government has taken up several measures for popularising sports culture by strengthening sports infrastructure in the state, so that the enthusiastic youth in sports would earn laurels at national as well as international level.
Later, the Minister distributed trophies among the meritorious sportsperson.
Younis Ahmad Bhat presented 4-Moushi Kick on the occasion and bagged great applause from the audience, whileas RMP Higher Secondary Magam won the Cup in the championship.
