JAMMU, Nov 9: The 2nd Jammu & Kashmir Masters Games concluded with great fanfare at the MA Stadium, here today, showcasing the spirit of lifelong athleticism and dedication to sports. Organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Masters Games Association (JKMGA) in affiliation with the Super Masters Games and Sports Federation (India), the five-day event saw participation from over 400 master athletes and 70 officials representing districts including Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Baramulla, Rajouri, Poonch, Anantnag, and Udhampur.
JP Singh former IGP, graced the closing ceremony as chief guest, while Ashutosh Sharma, Chairman J&K Olympic Association, attended as guest of honour. Both dignitaries presented medals and trophies to winners and lauded the athletes for redefining age and athleticism.
JKMGA President Ranjeet Singh Chib and Secretary General Neete Kaur expressed pride in the growing success of Masters Sports in the Union Territory. Conveners who contributed to the smooth conduct of the Games included Gurcharan Singh, Romesh Sharma, Mousami Verma, Bhanu Partap Singh, Anil Abrol, Raman Kumar, Meetu Singh, Rajesh Sumbria, Mohit Verma, Rajinder Singh, Prithpal Singh, Pankaj Malhotra, Amar, Praval Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Danish, Rajeev Sharma, Dayal Singh, David Sandhu, and Rishi, while the event was conducted by Mamta Bajaj. Prominent personalities present included Romesh Sharma, Som Raj Gupta, Kuljeet Singh, Sanjay Puri, Prabal Sharma and Rameshwar Singh Manhas.
