SRINAGAR, July 2: Second Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur T-20 Cricket Tournament organized by Komal Library and sponsored by Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Budgam in association with STC BSF Humhama commenced at Station Training Centre (STC) cricket stadium Humhama.
In the event around 16 Sikh teams are participating. The tournament will provide an opportunity for the budding cricketers of Kashmir Sikh community to rub shoulders and compete with their cricketing counterparts from other districts as well in the process inculcating the spirit of healthy competition amongst them, as they strive to excel in the sporting arena, organisers said.
The event was inaugurated by DIG Operations BSF Frontier Rajindra Kumar Pandey.
Speaking on the occasion, guest of honour DG Fire and Emergency Services RS Sodhi said that this tournament will provide a strong platform for emerging young players and improving the standard of sports and helping in their overall personality development. He added that such events should be organized in future also for youth.
