26th RR Chenab Valley Volleyball Tournament concludes

KISHTWAR, Sept 28: The 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) concluded the 26th Chenab Valley Volleyball Tournament 2025 at Devigoal, Bunjwah, Kishtwar district, under the banner of Operation Sadbhavana. The event brought together 46 teams from across the Chenab region, including Kishtwar and Doda districts, showcasing local athletic talent and fostering community spirit in the aftermath of recent natural disasters.
The thrilling finale saw Lions Club Chilly defeat Thathri Club by 3-1 in a best-of-five match, clinching the championship. The winners were awarded Rs 30,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up received Rs 20,000 and trophies. The tournament was graced by prominent dignitaries including Alpha Company OC 26 RR Patnazi, Subedar Major 26 RR, Naib Tehsildar Bunjwah Naseer Ahmed Banday and other respected officials.
This initiative by the Indian Army aims to strengthen bonds between security forces and locals, promote sportsmanship and uplift community morale. Thousands of spectators, including students from various schools, attended the event.
