23rd J&K UT Athletics C’ship commences

JAMMU, Dec 20: The 23rd J&K UT Athletics Championship – 2025 commenced today at Synthetic Athletics Track, University of Jammu, organized under the aegis of the Athletics Federation of India and the J&K Sports Council, in collaboration with the University of Jammu and the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
The two-day Championship features competitions in Under-14, Under-16, Under-18, Under-20 and Open categories for both boys and girls, including Open Men and Women events, as per handout issued.
Around 800 to 900 athletes from across the Union Territory are participating, showcasing talent, determination, and competitive spirit.
Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Sharma, former General Secretary, J&K Olympic Association declared the Championship open and awarded medals to winners of the morning session. Officials of the J&K UT Athletics Association present included Sharat Chander Singh, Ravinder Singh, Ajay Sharma, Vinod Bhatia, Rajesh Kumar, Nirmal Singh, Sarabjeet Singh, Pawandeep Kour and Seema Karyal. The championship promises high-level athletic action and excellent exposure for young athletes from across J&K.
