JAMMU, June 13: The 1st J&K UT Table Tennis Ranking Championship 2025-26 began at the Indoor Sports Complex, M.A. Stadium, here today. The four-day event, organized by the J&K Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council under the “My Youth My Pride” initiative, will run until June 16.
Over 200 players from across the Union Territory are participating in this highly anticipated tournament. The event was formally inaugurated by I.P. Singh, former national table tennis player, who encouraged the young athletes to compete with dedication and uphold the true spirit of the game.
The opening ceremony featured a welcome speech by the organizing committee, marking the beginning of a new competitive season leading up to the national championships. Prominent attendees included Ajay Sharma, Sheetal Gandotra, Satbir Singh, Maninder Singh, Vasu Dewan and Narinder Singh. Matches were officiated by Gurvinder Singh (NIS Coach), Nitin Verma and Ankit Sharma.
