120 J&K Athletes set to compete in 38th National Games

JAMMU, Jan 21: The Jammu & Kashmir Olympic Association (JKOA) has completed the registration process for 120 athletes (both male and female) for the upcoming 38th National Games, which will be held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to 14 February 2025. The list of athletes has been submitted to the Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC), formed by PT Usha, President of the Indian Olympic Association.
Jammu and Kashmir will be represented in 16 different sports events, with the following breakdown of athletes: 9 players for Shooting, 4 for Aquatics, 2 for Yogasana, 11 for Gymnastics, 12 for Fencing, 7 for Cycling, 4 for Boxing, 7 for Judo, 5 for Rafting, 17 for Wushu, 11 for Kalaripayattu, 3 for Canoeing & Kayaking, 2 for Rowing, 7 for Archery, 10 for Netball and 9 for Wrestling. 20% of coaches and officials will also accompany the delegation.
Jammu & Kashmir Olympic Association is hopeful for a strong performance from athletes. Ajay Vaid, General Secretary of JKOA, confirmed that Kiran Wattal has been appointed as Chef-de-Mission, and Rajesh Dutta as Dy. Chef-de-Mission. Rajesh Dutta, along with two contingents of officials and supporting staff, will be responsible for managing logistics such as arrival, departure, and accommodation for the J&K players and teams.
