JAMMU, June 24: The 11th Rugby District Championship 2025, organized by Rugby District Association Jammu, concluded at Green Field Stadium, Gandhi Nagar, here today. The two-day event, held on June 23 and 24, saw participation from over 16 teams across the district.
The championship, held under the banner of J&K Rugby Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, aimed to promote Rugby and empower young talent in the region. The event was inaugurated by Anil Sharma, Sports Manager at Green Field Stadium.
The closing ceremony was attended by chief guest Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and Harmeet Singh, General Secretary of the Jammu Rugby Association. They distributed medals and mementos to outstanding players and officials.
In the Under-18 Girls category, Bravers secured third place, Jammu Shakti second and Jammu Ruggers took first. In the Senior Girls, Rugby Avengers were third, Strikers second, and Jhelum Warriors crowned champions. Under-18 Boys winners were Phoenix Rugby Club, followed by Singh 7 and Jammu Ruggers. In the Senior Boys category, Jammu Platoon emerged victorious, followed by Jammu Bulls and Jammu Brave Hearts.
