JAMMU, Aug 22: The Zonal Level Inter-School Tournaments were in full swing in various zones of Jammu and Kathua districts today.
District level Inter School Football tournament under all age groups was organized at DPS Kikryal (Katra), under the overall supervision of Dr Swarn Singh Chib, DYSSO Reasi. The tournament was inaugurated by Vandana Sharma, Headmistress Delhi Public school Katra, while Ashwani Katoch, Principal Amba Kids Home Penthal was the guest of honour. Patanjali woman footballer of DPS Katra showed extraordinary skills in the inaugural ceremony of the tournament.
In all, 240 footballers drawn from fifteen (15) schools of District Reasi participated in the Tournament.
In Under -14 boys, Amba Kids Penthal beat Govt. High School Sirah by 4-2 and Delhi Public School defeated Govt HS Nomain by 4-1, while in Under-17 boys, Govt HSS Katra drubbed GS Sirah (kikryal) by 2-0, HS Agar Jitto beat GHSS Reasi by 4-1,
GHS Nomin Katra trounced GHSS Reasi by 3-0, G.H.S.S Katra beat G.H.S Agar Jittoby 2-1 and DPS Katra outplayed GHS Nomain by 4-1.
In Under-19 boys, GHSS Katra outclassed GHSS Penthal by 5-3 and DPS Katra prevailed over GHSS Reasi by 3-1.
The matches were officiated by Ravi Kumar, Anil Singh, vikrant Singh Rahul bakshi, Ranjeet kumar, Vikas Verma and Balbir Singh.
In Hiranagar zone of Kathua, Government Higher Secondary Kootah emerged champion in Under-19 girls Kho-Kho, while Government HSS Sallan excelled in Kabaddi in ongoing Inter School Clubbed Zone Level Tournament being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of DYSSO Kathua, Subash Chander Bhardwaj and under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer, Hiranagar, Sukesh Kumar.
Senior Secondary Schools of the three zones namely Hiranagar, Sallan and Marheen are participating in the tournament.
A total of 70 players of drawn from 7 schools of all three zones participated in the tournament.
In Kho-Kho Under-19 girls final, Government HSS Kootah (Zone Hiranagar) thrashed Government HSS Sallan by 3 points, while in Kabaddi Under-19 girls final, Government HSS Sallan defeated Government HSS Kootha by 4 points.
The Inter-School Tournament of BVhalwal and Marh zones in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Wrestling for Unbder-19 years boys began at Govt Higher Secondary School Domana, today.
The Tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu, while the event is being held under the supervision of Veena Tikoo, ZPEO Marh and Jasbir Singh, ZPEO Bhalwal.
The Tournament was declared open by Mohd Amin Mirza and Chanchal Singh Baba.
GHSS Marh sealed berth in the Kabaddi final by defeating HSS Gharota by 19 points in the first semifinal, while in Kho-Kho, GHSS Domana defeated GHSS Bhalwal by 3 points and GHSS Gharota got better of GHSS Gole Gujral by 11 points.
Akhnoor and Chowki Choura zones organized Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling Under-19 years’ boys at Govt Higher Secondary School (Boys) Akhnoor.
Principal Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, Jagdeep Kumar Padha declared open the Tournament, under the supervision of Sher Singh, ZPEO Akhnoor and Om Prakash, ZPEO Chowki Choura.
In Kabaddi, APS Akhnoor beat HSS Chowki Choura, HSS Dori Dhager defeated St Francis HSS Akhnoor and also HSS Nasri Bala and HSS Sohal drubbed HSS Akhnoor.
In Kho-Kho, HSS Akhnoor emerged champion, while in Volleyball final, APS Akhnoor outplayed St Francis HSS Akhnoor by (2-0) sets and in Wrestling, Ankush of HSS Nasri Bala defeated Rashpal of HSS Akhnoor in 52 kg and Aman of HSS Akhnoor beat Rocky of HSS Chowki Choura in 58 kg category.
The zones of Jourian and Khour organized Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Wrestling and Cricket at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Jourian.
The Tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of Bhim Singh ZPEO Jourian and Romesh Chander, ZPEO Khour. Ashok Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Jourian was the chief guest on the occasion, who declared the Tournament open in presence of Sham Lal Shastri, Headmaster, Govt Girls HS Jourian.
In Under- 19 Volleyball, JSS Jourian defeated HSS Khour, HSS Pargwal drubbed HSS Dhakkar and HSS Pargwal trounced HSS Pallanwala, while in Kabaddi Under-19 years, HSS Dhakkar defeated GHHS Khour, HSS Pargwal got better of HSS Khour by 5 points and HSS Dhakkar drubbed HSS Jourian by 13 points.
In all, 150 players drawn from various Private and Govt Schools participated in the Tournament. The matches were officiated by Romesh Chander, Chandervir Singh, Sham Singh, Anubhav Dev, Romesh Singh, Ashwani Kumar and Vijay Kumar.
