Zinc futures up 0.12 pc on overseas cues, spot demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 28: Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.12 per cent to Rs 129.65 per kg amid a firm global trend and better domestic demand, as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in February up by 15 paise, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 129.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 68 lots.

The metal for delivery in March also rose by a similar margin to Rs 128.65 per kg in a business volume of 56 lots.

Marketmen said improved demand in the spot market amid a firming trend in base metals copper and other base metals on the London Metal Exchange, supported the rise in zinc futures here. (AGENCIES)
