KATHUA May 8: Youth National Conference on Friday staged massive dharna and took out a protest rally here this afternoon against the new recruitment policy mooted by the PDP-BJP Government and described it as anti-youth.
The protesters burnt effigy of the coalition Government and termed the move as commercialising and politicising recruitment by carrying out backdoor appointments of favourities at the cost of deserving and meritorious candidates.
Addressing protesters, Provincial Youth National Conference President Surinder Singh Bunty exhorted the cadre and youth to remain steadfast in foiling the sinister designs of the Government, which has shown high degree of insensitivity by antagonizing the educated unemployed. “This is bound to boomerang on the face of widespread resentment among the youth”, he added
Mr Bunty lauded the unity and resilience demonstrated by the youth across the State against this policy and said National Conference will fight for the justified cause of the young people and won’t rest till it is not rolled back. In this context he referred to the reported return of Jammu and Kashmir New Recruitment Policy 2015 Ordinance by Governor N N Vohra and said the government should not make it a prestige point and stick to the policy. He said the move is fraught with the danger of encouraging corruption at various levels which has the potential of demoralising and frustrating job aspirants.
