JAMMU, May 13: A youth was murdered in Dogra Hall area, falling under the jurisdiction of Pacca Danga police station.
As per police sources, 25-year-old Narinder Singh, son of Jagbir Singh, a resident of Gandhi Nagar was found murdered near Dogra Hall area this morning.
On getting information, police team from Pacca Danga police station rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where after conducting postmortem, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections was registered at Pacca Danga police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased along with locals blocked the vehicular movement on the road near Last Morh in Gandhi Nagar and placed the body of the youth on the road.
The family members alleged that a youth namely Charlie of Dogra Hall has murdered their kin and demanded his immediate arrest.
On getting information, SP South Rahul Malik and SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors assuring the arrest of the youth.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored.
Acting swiftly, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station led by SHO Manzoor Ahmed Kohli arrested Charlie of Dogra Hall on the allegation leveled by the family members of the deceased.
The youth was handed over to Pacca Danga police for further action.
Further investigation into the case registered at Pacca Danga police station is going on.
