KATHUA, Dec 16: Youth held protest here today and demanded release of selection list of Special Police Officers (SPOs).
A large number of youth assembled near DC Office here and held protest. Amid slogans, they also blocked the vehicular movement on the DC Office road.
While speaking, one of the protesting youth said that the test of SPO was conducted in the year 2016 and since then the selection list was not released.
“We remained waiting that the list of selected SPOs will be made public, but three years had passed, no list has been made out”, he said and demanded immediate release of the selection list of SPOs, the test of which was conducted over three years back.
Later, the protesting youth also met DC Kathua OP Bhagat and projected their issue. The protesting youth asked DC to intervene and save the future of the youth residing in district Kathua.
DC Kathua gave patient hearing to the protesting youth and assured them of taking up their issue with the concerned authorities.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored.
