RAJOURI, Jan 22: The police arrested a youth for alleged rape attempt on two girls at a local hotel near Bus Stand here last night.
A police spokesman said that one Sunil Kumar, son of Balbir Singh, resident of Pathankote was working as driver of a JCB here. He was putting up at a rented accommodation in Kheora area. At local Bus Stand, he found two girls hailing from Badoon village on Kalakote road. These girls after attending marriage function had to go back to their home but could not get any passenger vehicle. This youth asked girls to have night stay at local hotel at cheap rate and he took them to nearby hotel. The youth helped in providing room to them and then left the hotel.
After 9.30 pm he came again to the hotel and entered the room of the girls and tried to commit rape. The girls raised alarm and then hotel staff reached there. They informed police and then police arrested the youth and registered a case FIR No. 40/ 2015 against him.
