Youth dies after jumping into Tawi river

JAMMU, May 11: A 22-yr-old boy died after he jumped into the river Tawi from a bridge in this winter capital of the State.
“A boy namely Subhash Chander son of Gopi Ram, a resident of Rajeev Nagar (Bahu Fort) this afternoon jumped from the bridge into the river Tawi in Gujjar Nagar area,” police here said.
They said that police and locals swung into action to save him and rescue from the river bed but he died of multiple injuries.
“No suicide note or any document was recovered from the possession of the deceased”, police said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigations started.
