JAMMU, July 29: A young woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Purkhoo area of city outskirts.
“Priya Manhas (20) wife of Ajay Singh Manhas, resident of Pargwal, was found hanging late last night from the hook of the ceiling fan at her parents’ house in Purkhoo area,” a police official said.
He said as soon as family noticed the woman hanging, they informed the Kanachak police which reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
“After postmortem, the body of the woman was today handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while Kanachak police has initiated inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC in this connection,” the official added.
