Young Heroes to lock horns with Akhnoor Tigers in inaugural tie

JAMMU, Mar 29: Young Heroes Football Club under the aegis of J&K Football Association (JKFA) is organizing 1st Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College football ground from tomorrow.
This was stated by vice president of JKFA, Jammu Zone Surinder Singh Bunty while interacting with media persons here today.
The tournament is being organised in the memory of Vishal Heer, a promising player of Young Heroes Football Club, he added.
He said the purpose of organizing this tournament is to popularize and promote the game of football in J&K.
The tournament to be inaugurated by Zamir Thakur, president, JKFA will be played on knockout basis and top 16 teams of Jammu district have confirmed their participation.
The participating teams have been divided into two pools—Pool A and Pool B. In Pool-A the teams are Young Heroes, Sainik Football Club, Jammu Sports, NGR, Young Star, Musa Club, New Bharat Club and Young Tigers. In Pool-B the teams are Young Rovers, Churchill Brothers, Vijay Club, Param Football Club, Jammu United, J&K Bank Academy and Hero Club.
The inaugural match of the tournament will be played between Young Heroes and Akhnoor Tigers tomorrow.
The organizing committee members are Zamir Thakur, President, JKFA, RK Kohli, treasurer, Surinder Singh Bunty, vice president, Kuldeep Singh and Sheikh Mehmood, direct members, Charan Dass, Suresh Gupta, Rakesh Kumar and Harbans Lal, senior football players, Yousuf Don, secretary Jammu Sports, Rajesh Kumar, secretary Young Heroes, Narinder Gupta, secretary Jammu United Club, Amarjeet Singh, Secretary Baba Football Club, Pankaj Kumar, football player, Rohit Kumar, football player J&K Bank and Tushar Heer, football player, J&K PDC.
The technical committee members for the tournament are Satpal Singh, NIS Football Coach, J&K Sports Council, Vishwamitter, NIS Football Coach, J&K Sports Council, David Burrat, Kushey Kumar and Rohit Gupta, NIS Football coaches.
The protest/disciplinary committee members are Sheikh Mehmood, direct member, Ramesh Chander, former international player, Surinder Singh Bunty, vice president, JKFA Jammu zone, Kuldeep Singh, president, DFA Jammu, Charan Dass and Harbans Lal, veteran footballers.
The referees committee included Vijay Kumar, Suresh Gupta, Mooh Stephen, Koushal Sharma, Harmanjeet Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Harneel Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar (Rickey), Rohit Gupta and Kushey Kumar.
