JAMMU, Mar 29: Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) Cricket team emerged winner from Jammu region in T 20 Jagran Cricket Tournament held in KC Sports Complex, here today.
In a thrilling grand finale, YCET cricket team defeated MIET and won accolades for the consistently outstanding performance.
Earlier, YCET won the toss and elected to bat first. Riding on blitzkrieg knock of Aquib Nisar Batt, YCET team scored 165 runs and set a target of 166 runs for the MIET to chase. The entire cricket team of MIET was bundled out for 143 runs, thus MIET lost the by 22 runs. With this emphatic win, YCET qualified for the next round of tournament in the North Zone which is scheduled to be played on April 9, 2016 at Chandigarh. Man of the match was given to Aquib Nisar Batt of 6th Sem, Civil Engg, YCET for his splendid all -round performance by Ranjeet Kalra, Member BCCI. The skipper of the winning team was Harjot Singh of 6th Sem, Civil Engg, YCET.
Dr Seema Narain, Director, YCET thanked Er. Loveneesh Talwar, Manager and Sports Club Coordinator, YCET Cricket Team and coach Er. Ankush Sharma for their invaluable guidance and intensive training imparted to the students.
