JAMMU, Oct 28: World Judo Day was celebrated by judokas, coaches and judo enthusiasts to celebrate the birth anniversary of Prof Jigro Kano, Founder of Judo at MA Stadium, here today.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prof Kano was born on October 28, 1860 in Japan.
An impressive and well attended function was organized to pay floral tributes to the ‘Father of Judo’ under the supervision of Vikas Gupta, general secretary, J&K Judo Association and R C Thakur, senior vice president.
Apart from galaxy of ace and budding judokas, the function was attended by Suraj Bhan, chief coach and coaches Rameshwar Singh, Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra, Ritika Salathia.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Suraj Sharma, Virender Dogra and Shaiv Kumar.
