JAMMU, June 3: Former Professor Head Blood Bank Government Medical College Jammu and former Programme Director Advanced Yoga Centre Government Medical College Jammu Dr T. R. Raina conducted a workshop on the topic “Drug Abuse, its prevalence and preventive aspects” at Delhi Public School Shaheedi Chowk here.
The workshop was presided over by Principal of the school and attended by the students and the faculty members.
During PPT presentation, Dr Raina deliberated and discussed the causes of increasing incidence of drug abuse and its effects on individual, family and society level and also the responsibilities of the parents, teachers, school administration, police and the society as a whole to curve this menace. He also explained the normal functioning of human brain and how an illicit substance/drug affects the “Feel Good Area” of the brain.
Dr Raina also gave practical demonstration of certain simple yogic techniques.
