JAMMU, Apr 23: The two-day workshop on “Choice Based Credit System”, organized by Government College for Women, Parade, Jammu, culminated today.
Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma, who was chief guest in the valedictory function, said that CBCS offers flexibility to students to study at their own pace without getting disarrayed.
Principal of the Institution, Dr Hemla Aggarwal articulated upon the relevance of the new system along with its flexible and innovative approach.
The proceedings of two successive days of the workshop were reported by Prof. Geetanjali A Rana, Coordinator of the workshop. Prof Sudhir Singh from GDC Udhampur spelled out the participants’ feedback which included the suggestions and recommendations of the participants from various degree colleges.
On the concluding day, three technical sessions were held. In the first technical session eminent academician and resource person Prof M K Jyoti deliberated on various aspects of CBCS and laid special stress on core courses. In the second session, Prof S K Khosa gave a comprehensive presentation on innovations and improvements introduced in the teaching learning system under CBCS. Third session comprised of panel discussion wherein the doubts and ambiguities of various participants were weaned out by the Resource Persons and the participants were also involved in a group activity.
