JAMMU, Oct 27: Six days’ workshop on “Adolescence Education Programme” conducted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Jammu Region at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Gandhi Nagar concluded today.
Prof KSR Koteswara Rao, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore was the chief guest and Prof Anjali Gurtoo, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore was the guest of Honour. Usha Shamendra, Assistant Commissioner, KVS, Jammu Region and Director of the Course, officiating venue Principal Romi Amrit and Vice Principal Dr BC Dwivedy of K V No 1, Jammu were present on this occasion.
Speaking on this occasion Usha Shamendra highlighted the main features of this scheme of Adolescence Programme.
A Cultural Programme consisting of multi-lingual songs and folk danced as well as kathak dance were presented by the participants of the workshop.
During the programme, various topics and issues were undertaken during included Adolescence Related Issues, Drug and Substance Abuse, HIV-AIDS, RTI, STI, case studies and peer facilitation.
Speaking on this occasion Prof Anjali Gurtoo said that the role of teachers, parents and adolescents is vital in resolving the issues of adolescence.
Later, certificates were distributed among the participants of the workshop.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Neelima, facilitator of the workshop.
