KARGIL, July 8: A large number of women from Kaksar village today staged a protest and blocked the Baroo main road, demanding the immediate restoration of drinking water supply in the area.

The protesters alleged that the village has been facing an acute water shortage due to the complete failure of the Jal Jeevan Mission water supply system, leaving residents without sufficient drinking water for their daily needs.

The officials assured the protesters that immediate steps would be taken to restore the drinking water supply and address the grievances of the residents at the earliest.
