Woman, son arrested with heroin worth lakhs

JAMMU, Feb 21: Bahu Fort police arrested a woman and her son along with 50 grams heroin worth several lakhs.
As per police sources, during checking near Railway Station here, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by SI Charanjeet Singh intercepted a Etios car bearing registration number PB02CC-2199.
During checking, police team recovered 50 grams heroin worth several lakhs from the possession of couple travelling in the car and arrested a man and her mother.
The arrested persons were identified as Tarsem Rani, wife of Mahinder Singh and her son Vinod Singh, residents of Amritsar Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 65/2021 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
