JAMMU, July 8: A young woman committed suicide by hanging at her in-laws’ house in Akhnoor area of district Jammu last evening.
The police identified the victim as Meenu Devi, resident of Gandarvan village, under Akhnoor police jurisdiction. Her husband is in Army and he was said to be outside. The woman locked herself in a room and committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling hook of the fan. She was removed to hospital where doctors declared her as brought dead. The police registered a case and started investigation. The parents of the girl alleged that she was murdered. They alleged that the girl was being harassed by husband and other members for money and dowry. And they even helped her husband a lot during construction of his separate house.
