Woman dies, 440 test +ve in J&K; 61 new cases in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 13: A woman died of COVID-19 and 440 persons tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir while 61 fresh cases were reported from the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
The COVID casualty and 276 cases were registered in Jammu division while 164 cases were recorded in the Kashmir Valley.
An 83-year-old fully vaccinated woman hailing from Bassikala in Ward No. 7 of Bari Brahamana in Samba district died of COVID-19 at Narayana Hospital in Katra taking death toll in Jammu division to 2323 and Samba district to 125.
Corona toll in other districts include 1222 in Jammu 248 Rajouri, 166 Kathua, 147 Udhampur, 144 Doda, 109 Poonch, 69 Ramban, 48 Reasi and 45 in Kishtwar district.
Thirteen pilgrims of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji shrine tested positive for COVID-19 today on their arrival at Katra Railway Station.
Among 276 fresh COVID positive cases in Jammu division, 96 were reported from Jammu district, 83 Doda, 36 Ramban, 16 Udhampur, 14 each in Reasi and Kathua, eight Rajouri, four Poonch, three Kishtwar and two in Samba district.
As against 276 cases, 582 persons recovered from the virus leaving number of active positive cases in Jammu division to 2287.
Jammu district has highest 1044 active positive cases followed by 568 in Doda, 157 Ramban, 135 Kathua, 87 Udhampur, 69 Samba, 65 Poonch, 63 Rajouri, 57 Reasi and 42 in Kishtwar district.
Jammu region now has 1,64,504 Corona cases. Of them, 1,59,894 have recovered from the virus while there were 2323 fatalities.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 61 new Corona positive cases including 50 in Leh district and 11 in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 570 active positive cases—433 in Leh and 137 in Kargil district.
Corona count in Ladakh has gone up to 27400. Among them, 26604 have been treated while there were 226 casualties—167 in Leh and 59 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 164 fresh cases of COVID-19.
So far, 4745 persons have succumbed to the virus including 2422 in Kashmir.
Those who tested positive include 92 cases from Srinagar, Baramulla 12, Budgam 15, Pulwama 5, Kupwara 18, Anantnag 7, Bandipora 2, Ganderbal 6, Kulgam 3 and Shopian 4.
Besides, 1228 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time. So far 440560 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 5466 including 3179 in Kashmir.
