Doda, Nov 22: Warriors Eleven Gorkhan lifted the title trophy of the 4th Shaheed Dina Nath Memorial Championship 2014, defeating Young Star Kothi Mushal by 50 runs at Sports Ground Gai Dessa.
The tournament was organized by Amity Youth Club Dessa in collaboration with Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Unit Doda.
After winning the toss, Warriors Eleven Gorkhan scored a total of 195 runs by losing all their wickets in 19 overs game. Chasing down the target of 195 runs, Young Star Kothi Mushal was bundled out for 145 runs.
Commander Captain 10RR Camp Jai Gourav was the Special Guest on the occasion who distributed the cash prizes and mementoes among the winning team besides loosing team also. Chief Organizer and President Amity Youth Club Dessa Hitest Rajput also honoured chief guest with Special memento.
While speaking, the chief guest laid stress on participation of rural youth in sports activities as well as District and State level tournaments for personality building and inculcation of sportsmanship. Chief guest also lauded the efforts of the president Amity Youth Club Dessa for managing and organizing of such sports events in such a remote and far-flung area.
A total of 11 teams from different parts of Dessa and its adjoining areas participated in this cricket tournament.
