JAMMU, June 19: Condemning China for its military aggression along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, the Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market Jammu has announced boycott of all Chinese products.
Decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the members of the Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market, held today under the chairmanship of Rattan Lal Mahajan, President, in the presence of Dheeraj Gupta, Sr Vice President; Munish Mahajan, Vice President; Deepak Gupta, General Secretary; Abhimanyu Gupta, Secretary and Vishal Gupta, Cashier of the Federation.
Addressing the meeting, Deepak Gupta said that the Government has started its process to eliminate Chinese goods as Rs 9000 crore tender given to the Chinese firm by BSNL has been cancelled and the private players in the telecommunication industry have been instructed not to use the Chinese equipments. “There is a list of 450 broad categories of commodities, which have over 3,000 Chinese products. At present, India imports about Rs 5.25 lakh crore, i.e. $ 70 billion, worth of goods annually from China. We all now need to boycott Chinese goods to break their economy. We must unite ourselves to teach the lesson to China. It is time to show them the power of Indian wallet,” he said.
Maintaining that the Federation has decided to step up its movement against the boycott of Chinese goods, Deepak Gupta said that there are more than a dozen trade associations and a network of thousand traders who will circulate this message to all of them for action. “We are also preparing a proposal for the Government to look for manufacturing those items for which we have to rely on China,” he added.
The traders said: “We as a nation are deeply saddened by the death of our bravehearts in Galwan Valley. We will forever be indebted to them for their invaluable service to the nation. As if Corona was not enough to fight with now, we have to lose our brave hearts as well! Every soldier martyred is a loss no one can compensate for.”
