JAMMU, Dec 14: Some wards of deceased police personnel today assembled here near Press Club and demanded the settlement of their cases regarding SRO 43 at the earliest.
Staging a protest demonstration against the Government, they said that at the time of the death of their fathers they were minors and were informed by the concerned officers that they would be provided employment by the department on the basis of SRO 43 once they attained the age of maturity i.e, 18 years.
“But when we attained the age of 18 years, we were informed that the Government had made an amendment that on the death of a serving police personnel, the applicant should be of 12.5 years and 5years relaxation will be provided by the Government”, the protesting youth said, adding their families have badly suffering due to this inhuman policy of the Government.
They alleged that due to wrong information provided by the concerned officers their families are suffering badly, as if they have given us right information, our mothers should have taken benefit of SRO 43 and become bread earner for our families instead of waiting for us to attain the age of 18 years.
The protesting youth said that in August 2016, Government itself breaks its policy and approved 70 militancy related cases and gave them one time relaxation both in age and qualification while other cases including harness minor cases out of the total of 175, were ignored.
They demanded that their cases be settled at the earliest and one time relaxation be given to them as given in militancy related cases.
