JAMMU, Mar 16: A protest demonstration and ‘dharna’ was held by VRS Union under the leadership of its president Dev Raj Bali and general secretary, Surinder Singh at Press Club, here today.
Criticizing the NC-led Coalition Government for its callous attitude towards solving the problems with regard to pending dues of voluntary retired Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (J&K SRTC) employees, the Union said that a total of 126 slabs and arrears since 1999, amounting to Rs 30, 16, 10, 673.00 of 742 VRS employees is pending with the Government.
The Union finally appealed the PDP- BJP Coalition Government to come to the rescue of these employees and make an early solution of the long pending problems.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Balwinder Singh, JD Singh, Gulshan Singh, D N Sharma, BB Sharma, Surjit Singh, Sin Mohd, Kulbir Singh and Sat Bhushan.
