VRS given SRTC employees protest

JAMMU, Apr 27: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association held a protest near Exhibition Ground, here today.
Amid slogans, the protesting volunteer retired employees raised slogans in favour of their demands. The protest was led by Dev Raj Bali, President of the Association.
While speaking, Bali criticized the attitude of the State Administration and Transport Higher Authorities towards the protesting employees.
“We approached number of times to officers of the Transport Department and they assured us that before Darbar Move, our case will be settled, but nothing has been done”, he asserted.
The protesters demanded release of pending dues of VRS/GHS employees which include COLA arrears, 6th Pay Commission arrears and bonus at the rate 8.33 per cent and implementation of corporate benefits.
“We appeal to the Advisor to Governor having portfolio of Transport Department to take up our case in the forth coming Board of Directors meeting for redressal”, they added.
Among others present were Surinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Deep Raj, Suraj Singh, BB Sharma, DN Sharma, Shiv Kumar and Gulshan Singh.
