Vriddhi Royals drubs MIER CA to seal berth in finals

JAMMU, Oct 21: Drubbing MIER Cricket Academy by a big margin of 78 runs in the semifinal, Vriddhi Royals sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing 5th Col RN Chopra Challenge Cup 2018, here today.
Earlier, Vriddhi Royals won the toss and elected to bat first to score 241 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 35 overs. Shivam Koul top scored with 52 runs, while Abhay Tondon, Aditya Abrol and Pawandeep Singh contributed 46, 28 and unbeaten 24 runs to the total respectively.
For MIER Cricket Academy, Puniya Raina and Tabish took 2 wickets each.
In reply, MIER Cricket Academy managed to score 163 runs to lose the match by 78 runs. Tabish top scored with 44 runs, while Puniya Raina and Yuvraj contributed 24 and 22 runs respectively. For Vriddhi Royals, Shavac was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets, while Abhay Tandon and Aditya Abrol shared 2 wickets each. Abhay Tandon was adjudged as the man of the match for his all-round show.
The match was officiated by Akash Manhas, Deepak Singh and Surjit kumar, under the supervision of Sukomal Ganguly chief coach of the Academy.
