POONCH, Oct 11: The village level workers of the Rural Development Department (RDD) have urged the Government to enhance their pay grade and also increase DPC quota from 50 % to 75 % for further promotions.
In a meeting of the district unit of the VLWs Association held here today under the chairmanship of Ajeet Singh, the members discussed their pending demands. The speakers demanded that their initial pay grade be hiked as it is very low. They said their grade is even low than Patwaris and teachers.
They further demanded increase in the quota for the DPC, enhancement of FTA from Rs 15 to Rs 3000 per month and change the designation from VLW to Panchayat Development Officer.
