Villagers protest for completion of PMGSY road

UDHAMPUR, July 15: Villagers of Kulwanta and Mian Bag today protested against worst condition of PMGSY road to Bari Ladana , which has been left incomplete for the last one year.
The protestors raised slogans against the PMGSY Department for allegedly delaying completion of this road from Kulwanta to Bari Ladana, which was started in 2017 and had to be completed by March 2018.
The present condition of this road is so bad that one can’t even walk on it while people are not able to take any sick old person or pregnant woman to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar and GDH Udhampur as traveling on this road is risk to their lives, the villagers said.
Further, the children are not able to regularly attend their school since this road remains closed for days together in bad weather, they further said and added that PMGSY road started with this one were almost completed but the department has so far failed to finish the work and black topping this road.
Meanwhile, a similar protest by the villagers of Mian Bag, about 2 km from Udhampur City, was held today against the Public Works Department, (R&B) authorities, and District administration for their failure to construct bridges on the way from Mianbag to other villages.
Around 1000 souls daily use these roads and face hardship in reaching their destinations due to no Bridge on this road.
