Vikramaditya visits Ashiana Orphanage, takes stock of facilities

KISHTWAR, Dec 21: Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh today visited Ashiana Orphanage here and took stock of the facilities being provided to the special children.
Sanjeev Parihar, President Ashiana Orphanage and Advocate Kuldeep Sharma, Vice President of the orphanage gave an overview of the issues and problems which they were confronting while running the affairs of the orphanage.
Vikramaditya said that such organizations are rendering yeoman’s services to the society and therefore general masses should extend seamless help to such selfless organizations which are accomplishing social causes. He assured wholehearted support to the organization for adding up more facilities.
Earlier, the former MLC visited Sarthal Devi Temple and paid obeisance. He also prayed for the peace, progress and prosperity of J&K and also for country to shine across the world.
Vikramaditya also interacted with the people of the area and took stock of the problems being faced by them.
Later, the former MLC met Deputy Commissioner and discussed several issues including possibilities for future investments and development of tourism department in the district. Besides, the development of Sarthal Devi Temple especially the approach road, which has been in a dilapidated condition for many years, he also discussed about an acute scarcity of potable water within temple premises.
Vikramaditya, who is the Chairman of Mata Sarthal Devi Trust, requested the Deputy Commissioner for inclusion of this holy temple in Government’s sagacious Prasad Scheme to ensure its state of art development.
In response, the Deputy Commissioner informed him that already the aforesaid road has been sanctioned and it is most likely that the work will be completed before March 2022. As far as the issue of dearth of drinking water is concerned, he said that under Jal Jeevan Mission, the issue will be resolved soon and no devotee will have to face any difficulty in the coming time.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the former MLC that he will soon visit the temple and ensure that things will get accomplished well within stipulated time.
Vikramaditya Singh sought that the Government should act on ground to ensure an increase in tourist footfall in the region and also work to create more job avenues for the youth of Kishtwar district.
