KATHUA, Dec 29: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the quarterfinals, Sabhi Cricket Club Pathankot and Vicky Cricket Club Hoshairpur sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing 6th Police Martyrs Memorial Inter-Club NZ T20 Tournament, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
In the 3rd quarterfinals played today, Vicky Club defeated Bala Ji XI Kurukshetra by 2 wickets. Batting first, Bala Ji XI scored a modest total of 116 runs in the stipulated 2-0 overs. Bunty top scored with 31 runs, while Pratap and Mayank contributed 23 and 21 runs to the total respectively. Amrinder took 3 wickets, Varun bagged 2 wickets and Sandeep claimed one wicket for Vicky Club.
In reply, Vicky Club chased the target by losing 8 wickets to win the match by 2 wickets. Sandeep and Prince contributed 45 and 34 runs for the winners. Gursevak and Pawan claimed 3 wickets each for Bala Ji XI. Sandeep of Vicky Club was adjudged man of the match.
In another quarterfinal, Sabhi Club got better of Minerva Academy Chandigarh by 8 wickets in an easy contest. Winning the toss and batting first, Minerva Academy scored a modest total of 101 runs in 20 overs. Kuldeep Hooda (23), Harpreet Brar (19) and Ravinder Singh (14) were the main scorers. Amit took 3 wickets for Sabi Club, while Harshit and Hitesh claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Sabhi Club chased the target easily by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Ankit and Abhimanyu contributed 43 and 30 runs respectively. For Minerva Academy Chandigarh, Harpreet Brar and Ankit Kaushik claimed one wicket each. Ankit of Sabhi Club was declared as man of the match.
