KALAKOTE, May 9: In order to listen to the public grievances and to take stock of various ongoing developmental works, BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta today visited various remote villages of Kalakote. During this extensive tour, he visited Tallaha Bhanar, Andh, Malurrian and Kotwari villages and held public meetings there.
In all these villages the locals raised their genuine demands and requested MLC for their early resolution. At many places, the locals expressed their resentment over lack of basic facilities in their respective areas.
Addressing the gatherings MLC informed the locals that present Government is trying its level best to ensure equitable development of all the remote corners of the State. He further added that presently many historic developmental projects have been initiated for Kalakote and this has been made possible only through the active efforts of local Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli.
He said while these projects have been initiated by the present Government, ignoring the area for a long time by earlier Governments has made Kalakote a most backward tehsil of the State. This past injustice done by earlier Governments is the only reason that even today the people of this area have been denied basic facilities.
Reacting to the demands raised by locals Vibodh said that he will try his level best to get all the issues resolved on priority. While referring to many problems of Kalakote, Vibodh said that still there are many pockets of Kalakote which are very remote and have no road connectivity. Since such an injustice to Kalakote during past 60 years cannot be addressed within few years of present Government, therefore a special development package be announced for Kalakote, he added.
This, he said is the only way to end the long pending miseries of the locals. On this occasion, he also called upon the locals that present Government under the able leadership of PM Narendra Modi at the Centre and CM Mehbooba Mufti in the State is fully standing behind the peace-loving people of Kalakote and is trying its level best to make this area a developed area.
Prominent among others who accompanied MLC Vibodh during this tour included Rakesh Kumar, Devinder Singh, Anchal Singh, Sham Lal, Bal Krishan, Kala Ram, Gorab Seth, Kala Khan, Beli Ram, Mohd. Sadeeq, Shabir Hussain and Fakir Mohd.
