JAMMU, Dec 17: Member of Legislative Council (MLC) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) State vice-president, Vibodh Gupta, today met Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), Dev Lata and demanded to establish an exam centre in Rajouri.
The MLC apprised the Chairman regarding the hardships being faced by aspirants of various posts of JKSSB from Rajouri and Poonch districts to reach Jammu or Srinagar to appear in the exams for different posts being advertised by the board from time to time.
Vibodh also highlighted the problems being faced by the aspirants whenever the last minute calls are being given for the cancellation and postponement of different exams as a result of which these unemployed aspirants have to suffer many losses.
He apprised the chairman that these problems being faced by the aspirants of the twin border districts can be minimized by establishing a permanent exam centre in Rajouri which could help the people of these districts in big way.
Meanwhile, the MLC also took-up the issues of delay in the release of various selection lists for the different posts being advertised from time to time in the past, the fresh advertisements regarding the backlog posts and the post being referred by the different departments to the JKSSB.
After giving a patient hearing to the issues raised by the MLC, the Chairman assured him that after the conduct of the exams for the recent posts being advertised by the Board, the efforts would be made to establish a permanent exam centre in Rajouri that will help the aspirants of both the districts in a big way.
She also assured him that the selection lists would be released in the due course of time and the recruitment process for both the backlog and freshly advertised posts would also be expedited in the future to fulfill the shortfall of manpower in different State Government departments.
