JAMMU, May 12: Veterans Cricket Association J&K XI registered a convincing victory over Narayana Cricket Club in an exhibition match after posting a competitive total of 167/6 in 20 overs, courtesy a crucial 76-run partnership between Vivek Suri and Retaish Sharma.
After winning the toss, VCAJK XI elected to bat first. Openers Lalit and Sameer provided a steady start before Sameer was run out for 20, triggering a brief collapse. However, Vivek and Retaish stabilized the innings with composed batting, rotating the strike smartly and finding timely boundaries to shift momentum in their team’s favour.
Retaish top-scored with 44 off 34 balls, while Vivek contributed a valuable 28 off 27 deliveries. Late cameos further boosted the total and helped VCAJK XI finish strongly.
In reply, Narayana Cricket Club was bundled out for 104 in 13.2 overs as Vikram Singh Bandral, Munir Ahamed and Vivek Suri maintained relentless pressure. Anmol Koul fought hard for Narayana, but lacked support. Vivek Suri was declared Player of the Match for his impressive all-round performance.
