JAMMU, Apr 18: Mansoor Hussain Sohrawardhy, Vice- Chairman, J&K, Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today
Sohrawardhy apprised the Governor about the to-date status of various programmes being run by the KVIB for the propagation of Khadi and other industries in the rural areas; about the KVIB training centres which skill people for equipping them with the necessary expertise for starting and expanding Khadi and other industries and its initiatives for providing monetary help to individuals, societies and institutions for establishing village industries.
Governor stressed the importance of Khadi and village industries for encouraging enterprising youth and for bringing about overall economic prosperity in rural areas.
A delegation of Vitasta Hospital Medical Mission Charitable Trust led by its Chairman Pt. Gautam Kaul also called on Governor.
The delegation apprised the Governor about the health care facilities being provided by the Trust for the last 14 years in Muthi and sought Governor’s help in overcoming financial and other constraints in expanding the Mission’s services to meet the rapidly increasing number of patients.
Governor assured all possible help to the delegation.
