Various delegations call on Dineshwar Sharma

JAMMU, July 18: Various delegations of people met Central Government’s Special Representative on J&K Dineshwar Sharma during his visit to Kathua district today.
The delegations of BJP, Congress, NC, PDP, BSP and other small parties met Sharma and informed him about the view of their parties regarding situation in J&K.
The BJP delegation led by District president of the Party, Prem Nath Dogra strongly advocated for abrogation of Article 370 and 35A of the Constitution and removal of disparity with Jammu and Ladkah regions. Click here to watch video
Congress delegation led by the district president, Subash Gupta said that the people of different regions feel that they are being subjected to discrimination and efforts should be made that this feeling should end once for all by giving equal treatment to people irrespective of their religion and region. He also stressed on development and stated that common man is worried over the same as no proper attention was paid to development by previous alliance.
PDP’s district president, Surinder Singh stressed that Human Rights violation should end once for all in the State.
NC’s Ajit Sharma accused previous alliance of PDP-BJP of not undertaking development of the State as per the wishes of the people. He also demanded that two more districts be carved out of Kathua one for Kandi belt and another as Pahari district.
The BSP’s State president, Somraj Majotra who also called on Center’s representative said that the benefit of the development does not reach to poor people and SC bastis and colonies are ignored in development besides the people belonging to down-trodden communities are subjected to discrimination.
Rovin Sharma of JKNPP demanded dissolution of Assembly and holding of fresh elections in the State. He alleged that previous PDP-BJP alliance ignored Jammu and gave preference to Kashmir. Besides, militancy got a lease of life under the previous regime, he added.
Sharma who is on two days tour of Samba and Kathua districts will visit Samba tomorrow.
